Our legends series profiles of some of the great players who've represented the Wellington College Old Boys and Victoria University clubs over the past one hundred years.
Ron Jarden: Arguably the finest winger ever to play for New Zealand, Victoria University's Ron Jarden was also one of New Zealand's most talented sportsmen. Jarden played 37 matches (16 Tests) for the All Blacks between 1951 and 1956. He scored 213 points, including 35 tries. In his short seven year first class career, he amassed 134 matches, scored 145 tries, and then shocked everyone by retiring at 26 to pursue his career.
George Aitken: As a player Aitken was greatly admired and was described as a beautiful mover with the ball. At 5'9'' and 12st 4lb he was a speedy, thinking centre with a knee-high action who could also play on the wing.
Joey Sadler: At the peak of his game he was just a season away from an encounter with the 1937 Springboks and a chance to test himself against one of the games best - Springbok halfback Danie Craven.
